GROWING IN FAITH

Kids Ministry

Our kids ministry at Slate Hill is all about encouraging kids to love Jesus and to love each other. We want them to be excited about coming to church and to be excited to share about church with their family and friends.

What to Expect:

  • Children’s Church: Music, stories and activity time during our Sunday worship service

  • Nursery: Care for infants and toddlers during worship service

  • Sunday School: Bible lesson and activity following Sunday worship service

  • Kids’ Club: A weekly time of music, skits, discussion and fun on Wednesday evenings (September through March)

JUNIOR HIGH & SENIOR HIGH

Youth Ministry

Youth are an important part of our community at Slate Hill. Our leaders are committed to providing an atmosphere where our youth can explore and grow their faith in a caring and safe environment. 

Youth Programs

  • A weekly class with discussion and prayer time following our Sunday worship service.

  • A weekly time of faith formation and fun on Wednesday evenings, plus monthly social activities and service projects.

  • Slate Hill participates in AMEC Bible Quizzing — a 10-week program where youth study the Bible in preparation for friendly, regional competition.

  • Retreats, youth banquet & fundraiser, mission projects, youth convention, and special fellowship events — pool parties, Christmas parties, game nights, movie nights, and more.

  • Youth in grades 6–12 are paired with a mature Christian mentor. Mentors meet monthly and stay in touch regularly to encourage, listen, pray, and build a supportive relationship.

FAITH IN COMMUNITY

Adult Ministries

We believe discipleship happens in relationship. Through Care Groups, Missional Discipleship Groups, and our Men's and Women's Groups, we create space to study God's Word, pray together, and encourage one another.

We also build relationships through service and fellowship. Menno Knotters, Hilltop Luncheon, Book Discussion Group, and Ping Pong are a few ways we gather, have fun, and build friendships. See our Event Calendar to learn more about these opportunities.

INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL

Disability Ministry

Our ministry for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities includes a special Sunday class on the third Sunday of each month and monthly activities in partnership with Cumberland Vista residence in Dillsburg. We also host a community-wide Spring Fling for adults and their caregivers each March. Contact the church office to learn more about any of these opportunities.

PASTORAL SUPPORT

Care and Counseling

Our pastors, supported by the Elder Team, provide pastoral care to the congregation. Slate Hill also offers individual, couples, marriage and family counseling. For more information about counseling or to request pastoral care, please contact Pastor Lynn or Pastor Joy.
